Supplements to the

Curriculum Frameworks

The Supplement to the Curriculum Frameworks - Mathematics provides information to help clarify and support the document, Framework for Curriculum Development in Mathematics.  Greater detail is provided in the “What Students Should Know” sections by providing terminology and examples that support each strand.  Additional activities and assessment strategies have been provided in the “ What Students Should Be Able To Do” section to assist teachers in better understanding the identified performance objectives.  This document also contains pointers in preparing for the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) and a breakdown of discrete mathematics topics by grade intervals.  This supplement should be a valuable resource in the development of curriculum and assessments that are aligned to the Show-Me Standards.

Generic Scoring Guides

This document lists how graphing on the MAP will be scored at grades 3, 7, and 10.  Also listed is the generic scoring guide for writing an experimental procedure at grade 10.

L.I.S.A. Document

L.I.S.A. (Local Improvement for Science Achievement) contains tips to help raise student achievement levels on the MAP.

MAP Science Skills

As classroom teachers were writing constructed response items and performance events for the 2002-2004 science MAP tests, they realized students needed to have certain skills by the end of grades 3, 7, and 10.  This document is a list of those skills.

Performance Event Template

As classroom teachers were writing performance events for the 2002-2004 science MAP tests, they found putting them in a certain format helped make them equivalent.  Performance events in the operational test may not have all the components each time.

MAP Content and Process Standards

This document lists all of the benchmarks from the state Science Framework that were covered in the 1998, 1999, and 2000 MAP tests.   The list will be updated after the 2001 MAP is administered.
